Can I Purchase Life Insurance on someone without their knowledge?

Can I Purchase Life Insurance on someone without their knowledge?  The answer is…. YES.

Most life insurance companies will not issue a life insurance policy on someone without their knowledge.  They usually require the person to be insured not only provide consent but also undergo a medical evaluation to determine whether or not they are healthy.  But what if the person you want to buy life insurance on is not cooperative, does not want to allow you to buy the policy, or does not want to go through the medical evaluation?  Can I Purchase Life Insurance on someone without their knowledge?  Yes, you can!

Almega Life Solutions works with several large internationally based life insurance companies, including Lloyd’s of London, to help people buy life insurance on people without their knowledge.  There is not a US based life insurance company, we are aware of, that will do this.  However under certain circumstances the international life insurance companies will do just that, allow you to buy a life insurance policy on someone without their knowledge.

How is this accomplished?

First and foremost, to buy a life insurance policy on someone without their knowledge you must have a contractual business relationship with the person.  Some examples of such business relationships include business partners, ex-wives, ex-husbands, lenders, and key employees.  The life insurance policy must have a death benefit of at least $100,000 and can be issued up to $20,000,000.  To take out such a policy you are going to have to prove such a business relationship exists via a business contract, lending documents, or employee documents.

If you want to buy life insurance on an ex-wife or ex-husband without their knowledge you must provide alimony or child support documents to support the life insurance policy you are looking to purchase.

Can I buy a life insurance on my husband or wife?  NO!  You can on an ex-spouse with an alimony or child support contract but you may not buy a life insurance policy on your current spouse without their knowledge.

How much does this cost?  It’s not cheap!  The price depends on several factors including the age of the person being insured, the nature of the business contract or relationship, the insured person’s job, and the size of the policy.  There are also some strict limitations on the payment of the death benefit.  For example, the policy will not pay out if the insured person dies due to suicide, war, terrorism, due to psychological problems, drug or alcohol use, or HIV or any sexually transmitted disease.
